Notes

In the 1850 census Daniel and Charlotte Whipple are in the census in Perrysburg. Daniel is 46 b Massachusetts and Charlotte 32 with children Eliza H age 6 and Electa age 2. Also residing in this household is a Betsey Whipple age 76 b Mass and a James R. Alverson age 72 b VT, most likely Betsey Sheldon and Charlotte's father. I believe this is the most compelling evidence that this Daniel was the son of Daniel and Betsey. Following censuses show Alverson children living with them as well as additional Whipple children. By the 1880 census the couple is still in Perrysburg, Daniel is 76 retired farmer b Mass, father born Vermont, mother b Mass, and Charlotte is 62 b NY, parents born VT.
