Jean writes: "Abiel had 2 wifes first Emily then a wife in New Zeland. I do not think Abiel/Emily had any children. I am not sure why Abiel left RI just before the out break of the CV war. Maybe Emily did not want to leave RI.Abiel I believe made 2 trips back to RI in his early years and one of the trips his father Benjamin F Howland was the Captian of the ship that took him to NZ. Abiel was well know in the area (Christchurch) as a coachbuiler. Abiel Parents were Benjamin F Howland and Tabith Ellis."
