"He was a settler in Rehoboth, Mass.," where, on "July 3, 1644, he, with twenty-nine others, signed the Seekonk Compact. He afterwards removed to Pawtuxtet [sic] Rhode Island," where he "was Town Treasurer in 1665, and was also in the Town Council." He died "in the spring of 1667, when he was drowned 'off Pawtuxtet [sic] shoare.'"
