!MARRIAGES: Carol Barrett reports that Jacob married a second wife named Damaris about 1687, and that the last three children (Hannah, Joseph and Jabez) were children of her rather than Elizabeth Whipple. She cites Mary Lovering Holman, Ancestry of Charles Stinson Pillsbury and John Sargeant Pillsbury, 3 Vols., privately printed [for the Pillsbury family], 1938. In volume 1, p. 131-133, it states "'[children of John Perkins and Judith -----; 5th child] Jacob, b. 1624 [probably in England], d. 27 Jan. 1699-1700, aged 76 yrs.; m. (1), probably abt. 1648, Elizabeth Whipple; m. (2), abt. 1687, Damaris (-----) Robinson.' (Note that Elizabeth Whipple was not the mother of the last three children of Jacob Perkins, i. e. Hannah, Joseph and Jabez)."
