!SOURCE: Email from Anne Billeter (email hidden) to Weldon Whiploe, 27 May 2019. She writes to correct other sources that give her maiden name as Adams:

Multiple sources spell Marcia's maiden name Odam, including her marriage license and certificate, and her obituary, plus I looked at Luster's birth certificate...it doesn't say "Adams." Unfortunately, this info ends this Whipple line, as her obituary lists no grandchildren and states that she was preceded in death by all three sons.

She cites the following specific sources: "The Genealogy of the Brainard-Brainerd Family in America", vol. 3, p. 207 (birth, giving surname Odam); obit: San Mateo Times, San Mateo, CA, 9 Aug 1956, p. 17, NewspaperArchive (death, giving maiden name Odam); Find a Grave memorial 177301297, identifying her father as David Odam.
