!BIOGRAPHY: "George came to America with wife and 1st two children in 1869 per Bible Records and Minns Family Biography from Commemorative Biographical Record of Central Penna - 1898 - It states family data plus bio: He and Alice w/2 children came to America and 1st located in Renovo, Penna where George worked in the mines until 1879 then went to DuBois and bought 74 acres of land from John DuBois. George also operated in coal. He built a house in 1881 and constructed a 1500 ft water tunnel to connect with the city water system. He made a working farm out of nothing. He also operated 2 coal mines and supplied 2 tanneries in Falls Creek and DuBois. George and Alice hold memberships w/Episcopal Church of DuBois. Very high standing in the town of DuBois." --S.W.
