Pneumonia Fatal to J.W. Whipple
Man Long Resident of County Succumbs Tuesday, Funeral WednesdayJonathan W. Whipple, 81, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. T. W. Brydia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the chapel of the Criswell Funeral Home, burial in Rosedale cemetery.
Mr. Whipple was born in Indianapolis, Ind., August 27, 1855. In 1887 he was married to Mary Imogene Wigton and to the couple were born four children, Mrs. C. E. Evans of Talihina, Mrs. T. W. Brydia of Ada, Mrs. William Donner of Tucson, Ariz., and William E. Whipple, deceased. Mrs. Whipple died in 1897.
Later Mr. Whipple was married again and had six other children, Eldo, Edwin, Vincent, Harrison Whipple, Mrs. J.O. Cruson and Mrs. Earnest Mosler. Three brothers, Ira, Grant and Henry Whipple, and 15 grandchildren survive.
In 1907 Mr. Whipple came to Oklahoma and settled near Center, farming until he lost his eyesight ten years ago. Since that time his health has been failing and he has made his home with Mrs. Brydia. Pneumonia was the cause of death.
