!SOURCE: Email from Jeffrey Winter (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 27 Apr 2021. Gives name Mary Matilda Jeffrey (previous sources give name Matilda M. Chick). Cites son Jesse's obituary in the Ipswich Chronicle of 14 May 1909 which mentions his parents and sister. "My grandmother, on the Jeffrey side knew her great aunt Mary Matilda Jeffrey in life, so there is no question George's wife is incorrect here. That error was apparently carried forward from the original book on the Dodge family."
