Combs responded to Weldon Whipple's question regarding Mary Ann Jackson's children/grandchildren (23 May 2003): "The "Grandmother" on Mary Ann Jackson's line is what was on the cemetery page. It is likely that she is the grandmother of at least one of the people listed below her. Could she possibly be the mother (at age 40) of Wesley W. Whipple, mother-in-law of Alice, and grandmother of their child Lessie, for whom there were no dates?"
