I am not sure why AbielY left RI just before the out break of the CV war.YMaybe EmilyYdid not want to leave RI.Abiel I believe made 2 trips back to RI in his early years and one of the trips his father Benjamin F Howland was the Captian of the ship that took him to NZ. Abiel was well know in the area (Christchurch)Yas a coachbuiler. Abiel Parents were Benjamin F Howland and Tabith Ellis."
