Sarah Hopkins Hawes (1812-1860) ... married George Jenckes Harris. On their tombstone in Swan Point Cemetery is inscribed: Sarah Hopkins Hawes, daughter of General Joseph Hawes and Sarah Hopkins, granddaughter of Samuel, son of Admiral Esek Hopkins.Your website has Samuel, son of Esek, born 1748, dying 1750 so clearly he could not have fathered a child. Is it possibe Esek had a second son named Samuel?
