- NAC Note: It appears that I previously sent that Jehu 80193 was
the son of Jehu Evans 80194, which could still be true. There is a likely
candidate--Jehu Evans b. Smithfield February 28, 1769 d. Smithfield July 30,
1852, the son of David Evans {96305} and Jemima Bishop, but that's all the info
I have on him. There is no female of an appropriate age buried in the Jehu
Evans Lot, Mann Rd., Smithfield, RI. Having said that, I will reference the
fact that Jehu names his first son Elisha; it was custom then to name the first
son after the husband's father and the second son after the wife's father--Amey
Thornton's father was named William.
