[James Rutledge Whipple] married Mrs. Barbara Duquette Buffington, widow of Lt. Ralph Buffington, Oct. 17, 1953 in the chapel of the Little Church Around the Corner in NYC. Ralph was wounded in Korea 12 Aug. 1950 and died later that day. The ceremony, performed by the Rev. Dr. Randolph Ray, was followed by a reception in the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Edward W. DeWilton of 430 E 57th St, with whom Barbara lived. She attended Rollins College and was graduated from the Katharine Gibbs School in New York.
