!SOURCE: Email from Bill Brewster (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 15 Jan 2009. He writes:

The Laura Whipple who is married to Julius Davis is actually the granddaughter of David Whipple and Polly Benedict and the daughter of David Whipple (b 2/16/1813) and Phebe ________. This would make more sense, since the Laura Whipple who married Julius Davis was born in 1838/9, lived in McLean, NY, and did NOT die until sometime after the 1880 census. This would square with an 1859 marriage year.
