!SOURCE: Email from N. Combs to Weldon Whipple, 25 Feb 2003. Cites "Cemetery Transcriptions from the NEHGS Manuscript Collections," which lists "Lydia Ann Clark, his wife, 1827-1904, Linwood Cemetery, Colchester, New London Co., Connecticut, US"

!BIRTH: N. Combs writes: "I noticed that on both the 1850 and the 1860 census Lydia Ann's age is given as 33. If she were 33 in 1850, then she would have been born abt 1817 and be the right age to be Cornelia's mother. If, however, she were really 23 in 1850 and 33 in 1860, then her birthdate would be about 1827, which is what is given on her tombstone. If born in 1827, then she would have been only 13 in 1840 when Cornelia is born, possible, but not probable, and 17 in 1844 when Lyman was born. There are four years difference between Cornelia and her brother Lyman. Possibilities include 1) that there really was a Theoda, mother of Cornelia and Lyman, and maybe another child between them (the two-year rule) who didn't survive and that Theoda died after Lyman's birth; 2) that Theoda is the mother of only Cornelia and that she died not too long after, giving Jason time to remarry and father Lyman by Lydia Ann; 3) that Theoda is someone's reading of the tombstone that really said Lydia." --Email dated 25 Feb 2003
