According to a manuscript at the William L. Clements Library of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, she was born 10 December 1785. I have seen the manuscript but have not copied the precise source. It was handwritten and apparently contemporary. It may have been together with the Rogers family materials (my memory fails me at the moment). But it fits with her supposed age at death - 96 years and three months - and is as accurate as we'll ever be able to get. I suspect they were Baptists or unchurched. She was baptized 1 October 1809, First Congregational Church, Newton, MA, about midway between her marriage to Asa Rogers and the birth of their first child (son). She became a communicant member of that congregation the same day. Data for this found online (Ancestry.com). I also found the peripatetic family ("warned out" more than once) in the manuscript records of Massachusetts. They show that the children were brought up (to some extent) by her mother's brother, Ebenezer Cheney (a militia "general"). The parentage (and date of birth) of Anna Chamberlain (whose marriage spoon I own) (my 3rd great-grandmother) probably took me a half century or so to discover. She was very elusive (the family flew under the radar). Anna's place of birth was almost certainly New Marlborough, Berkshire County, MA, because her father (Josiah) owned land there then.
