I do not have documentation to support this, however most of the family history is quite accurate. I would certainly be open to another opinion."

I have Roxbury for birthplace of Mariah based on information quoted from a history of Roxbury, sent to me by a Roxbury historian. I did not note the name of the publication or the name of the historian however, so can not give any authoritative source. Here is what I have in my program on Mariah Chamberlain. I do not have David as the name on the 1855 census, but again, do not have access any longer to the actual census program I was using. Perhaps some of your other contacts would have access to the actual census. My records indicate members of Mariah's family were living with Daniel & Mariah on the 1855 census.History of Delaware Co:
Daniel Whipple was a hard worker and progressive farmer, and resided on the farm at Kortright until his death, at eighty-seven years of age, his wife, Maria Chamberlin Whipple, dying at the age of sixty-five years. He was a Republican in politics, and both he and his wife were devoted members of the Methodist Episcopal church. They were the parents of eight children, all of whom are living: Mrs. Jane Nesbitt, of Stamford; Jerome; Mrs. Emma Goodsell, of Meredith; George, living at Roses Brook; Mrs. Anna Lamport, of Stamford; Abram, of Fergusonville, Delaware County; Libbie, who lives at home; and Mrs. Sarah Nesbitt, of Fergusonville.
Daniel and Maria (Chamberlain) Whipple:
Daniel Whipple was born in the Green Mountain State, and his wife in Roxbury, Delaware County. Not only was he a successful farmer, but a tanner also, a trade much in demand in a new country. His declining years were spent in Kortright, where he died at the age of eight-seven, his wife passing away at the age of sixty-six. They had ten children, of whom eight survive; and the family belonged to the Methodist body. Mr. Whipple was a Republican in politics.
