!SOURCE: Email from Barbara "Bobby" Dobbins Title to the Whipple Website, 22 Jun 2003. Barbara writes: "Silvanus Hayward's 'History of the Town of Gilsum, New Hampshire' (1881) on page 273 says he was an exhorter in the M.E. Church and died in Lisbon, Ohio. Unfortunately, that is wrong. He died in Lisbon, Indiana, although he did live near Lisbon, Ohio earlier."

!SOURCE: Obituary (posted on the Whipple Mailing List) of Catherine (Whipple) Bond, publisned in the "Kendallville, Indiana Newspaper, April 15, 1880":

Bond, Catherine (Whipple), 84 years 10 months and 28 days, was born in the state of Vermont May 12, 1795 and died in Lisbon April 10, 1880. She was married to Elijah Bond in Kingston, Vermont March 14, 1816, with whom she walked life's rugged pathway over 61 years when he was taken from labor to reward. About the year 1840 they emigrated from Vermont to Allen County, Ohio, where they lived some 30 years. About 10 years ago they came to Noble County, Ind. and settled in Lisbon. For more than 60 years she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
