Notes

Nathaniel Whipple who came to Richmond, NH from Cumberland RI in 1767. His grgrandaughter Lucy Whipple (dau of Ichobod and Chloe Kempton Whipple) m Mellen Barrows, son of Jeremiah Barrows. Lucy and Mellen had a son Samuel Jones Barrows who was a lawyer in Utica NY from 1848 on and married twice, second wife being Isabella Grace Gourley, dau of John Gourley of Ogdenburg, NY (Mrs. Isabella Lowery married name). Mellen was born 2.28.1786, grew up in Richmond NH, and moved to Chenango are of NY where he died 1897. Lucy Whipple Barrows died there also in 1875.
