John W died 18 Nov 1888 in Decatur County, IN. He served in Co A 83rd Indiana Infantry during the Civil War. He owned several parcels of land in Decatur County, Indiana. His will states that all of his property real and personal was to be given to his brother Seneca L, "because of his care for me in my affliction". I am still tracing the deed records to see if Seneca L(eander) actually inherited land from his brother, of whether his brother sold the land before he died, as his will is dated 9 July 1881.
