!SOURCE: Email from R A to Weldon Whipple, 11 Sep 2007: "Agnes Stinson born 31 jan 1787 was not daughter of William (Jr) and Jane (probably Cochran) Stinson, but rather daughter of William's older brother David Stinson and wife Mary Stark. These two were sons of William Stinson and Agnes Caldwell. William Jr married Jane in Dec 1792, David married Mary Dec 1781. The Stinsons and Starks had close ties. (Mary was niece to General John Stark)"
