!RESIDENCES: "When an infant Leman L. Dawson was taken by his parents ... from Monroe County, N.Y. to Morris, Ill., of which township they were pioneer settlers. About 1864 he removed to Cedar Rapids, Ia., where he was engaged in the grain business over a dozen years; but in 1877 he returned to Morris, Ill." --J.G. Bartlett
