!RESIDENCES: "In 1849 John Wenzel and his brother Henry sailed for California in the Argonaut via Cape Horn. Returning in 1855, he lived for a short time in Southborough. He moved to Springfield, where he was in the shoe jobbing business. In 1875 he and his brother-in-law, Edwin R. Tucker, went to Colorado, where they were engaged in mining. They returned in 1876. He lived in Boston from 1876, and for a time was member of the Park Street Church choir." --J. Wenzel
