Spencer DavidWhipple 1980 ~ 2004 Spencer David Whipple died of heart failure following a bone marrow transplant August 27, 2004, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT, surrounded by loving family and angels. Spencer was born May 15, 1980 in Idaho Falls, ID to Wilford Leon and Susan Marie Waters Whipple. He was the second of eight children. Spencer spent most of his life in Orem, UT attending schools there, and graduated from Timpanogos High School and seminary. He was very active in scouting, achieving the rank of Eagle and participating in the Timberline Leadership camp for nine years. He also attended Wood Badge. He served for two years as a missionary in the California Anaheim Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, after which he attended UVSC. He married his sweetheart, Shelene Wyckhuyse, Dec 22, 2001 in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. A darling daugh-ter Alexis and a much awaited unborn son bless this marriage. Spencer was a hard worker. He worked as an electrician along side his father until the time he entered the hospital; he arranged other employment while there, to support his family. He was a devoted father and husband. At the time of his death, he was serving as ward Young Men's President. Spencer is survived by his wife, Shelene; his daughter, Alexis; and an unborn son; his parents; sisters, Katie Ruch, Stefanie Martin, Aubrey, Julia and Eden; brothers, Luke and Blaine; brothers-in-law, Justin Ruch and Scott Martin; nephews, Christopher and Garett Ruch; grandparents, Erline Whipple of Idaho Falls, ID, and Lawrence and Helen Waters of Pleasant Grove, UT; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the University Hospital for their kind, compassionate care of Spencer. A fund has been set up in Spencer's name at Western Community Bank in Orem, UT. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept 1, 2004 in the Northridge 14th Ward building at 1875 N 280 W, Orem, UT where friends and family may call Tuesday evening Aug 31, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery, under the direction of Wing Mortuary, Lehi.
