Entry reads: "Silvester, Joseph and Mary Whipple, married ------- 15, 1738." The Newport Mercury of July 17, 1769 reported the death of Joseph Sylvester, Esq. "last Wednesday" at the age of 57 (Arnold's VR 12:64).
