!CENSUS: "I also found in the 1880 census book Ossie Welborn in with a family named 'Gill' and she was listed as a cousin and the age was right for my Osie (6). Her parents William & Fredonia Welborn were not listed in the 1870 book. So they could have lived somewhere else. I know they died when she was young & someone else raised her. So I think I found out who. It was Esther A. Gill (b. about 1829) and her children were Rachael, Fillmore, Elizabeth, A. Clay, Annie, Essie, and William. The husband William was in the 1870 book but not listed in 1880. Also listed in the family in 1870 was Quincy A. age 44 but not in the 1880 book, possibly the brother of William (who was 42) but it didn't give an occupation for Quincy." --M.J.
