Alonzo C. Whipple
Alonzo Calvin Whipple, Aged 74 years, retired farmer, died at his home in this vilage [sic] early Thursday morning, June 28, after a long illness. Death was due to infirmities of old age.
He was a native of the town of Brownville, born there Aug. 3, 1854, a son of Calvin and Eliza Clark Whipple. In 1879 he was married to Miss Nettie Mills, who died some years ago.
There survives one sister, Mrs. Lydia Whipple Shurtleff, of Theresa; twelve nephews and seven nieces. There is also an adopted daughter, Mrs. Frank Langworthy of Watertown.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m., from the home on Church street, Rev. Grant Chambers, paster of the First Baptist church of Adams, officiating. Interment was at Smithville.
