CHARLES WILLIS WHIPPLEFinal rites for Charles Willis Whipple, aged, 66, who passed away following an illness of over fifteen years, on July 9th, were held Monday afternoon, at two o'clock. Rev. D. N. Rickerson officiated at the service, and Mrs. J. Baxter and Mrs. George Fountain sang. The service was held at the Haugen Chapel. Pall bearers were John Baxter, William Thayer, John MacDanel, Charles Pinson, R. Ruthford and John Peterson. Burial was made in Grand View Cemetery.
Mr. Whipple was born November 24th, 1869, at Cornell, Iowa, coming to Anacortes from Iowa to reside on July 24, 1913. He was employed in a local shingle mill until stricken by illness. Besides his widow, Mrs. Charlotte Rosabelle Whipple, the deceased is survived by three sons, Walter O. of Vancouver, Washington, Charles W. and Isaac H., both of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Alma Mitchell and Miss Charlotte Whipple, both of this city; two brothers, David Arthur Whipple of Illinois, and Wynn Whipple, of Iowa, and two grandchildren.
