His death date and place are incorrect. I found an obituary in "The Quincy Herald Whig" (Illinois), dated Tuesday, 14 Mar 1961, p. 16, which states that "Arthur Whipple, 78, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Quincy, died suddenly there Monday..." referring to 13 Mar 1961 and Lakeland.* This is confirmed by the Florida Death Index, which states that he died in March, 1961 in Polk County. Lakeland is in Polk County. ... I originally found the obituary in the Mildred Hooper Obituary Collection on Ancestry, and have determined that the handwritten date on each obit is the date of death, in Arthur's case, 13 Mar 1961.
