Norma writes: "The RI Death Index 1870-1885 says that Carlotta (Hobson) Whipple, dau. of George and Sarah Hobson, died in North Kingstown, Washington, RI on 30 Aug 1877, aged 30, giving her a birthdate of 1847 as indicated in the RI Historical Cemeteries Database Index. Most likely, 1847 was mistaken for 1817 when the gravestone was read by JCongdon."
