In an earlier email I speculated that Seth A. Whipple (1817-1849) was a son of Zadock 37081 and Content 37086 Whipple. Also suggested in the WGW as possible children are Lovina 37094 Whipple and Susan Ann 37097 Whipple. I wondered if there were any probability that Zadock and Content could be their parents, and there is supporting census records to show that they could be.1830 Federal Census, Franklinville, Cattaraugus, NY p.163
So, four males b. bet. 1816-1830 and one female b. bet. 1821-1825: Seth 1817, Henry 1829, David abt 1830 and Susan b. Dec. 1820. Lovina mar. in 1827, so she is not included with Zadock on this census. Zadock would be the male bet. 40-49 and Content the female bet. 30-39--and one son b. bet. 1821-1825 unaccounted for.
- Males: 2 under 5 (b. bet. 1825-1830), 1 5-9 (b. bet. 1821-1825), 1 10-14 (b. between 1816-1820) and one 40-49 (b. bet. 1781-1790)
- Females: 1 5-9 (b. bet. 1821-1825), 1 30-39 (b. bet. 1791-1800)
1840 Census, Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, NY p.19
- Males: 1 under 5 (b. bet. 1835-1840), 1 5-9 (b. bet. 1831-1835), 2 10-14 (b. bet. 1826-1830), 1 20-29 (b. bet. 1811-1820), 1 50-59 (b. bet. 1781-1790)
- Females: 1 15-19 (b. bet. 1821-1825), 1 40-49 (b. bet. 1791-1800) Shows five males b. bet. 1811 and 1840, and 1 fenale b. bet. 1821-1825: Seth 1817, Henry abt 1829, David abt 1830, Joshua abt 1833, and Susan b. Dec. 1820. Zadock is the male 50-59 and Content the female 40-49; unaccounted for: one son b. bet. 1835-1840.
Of course, with census ages varying from census to census, Zadock's children could fall into a different age group, e.g. Henry whose dates are given as 1819 and 1829 and Joshua who is 17 in 1850, 16 in 1855 and 20 in 1860.
