During WWI he was inducted at Lisbon on April 29, 1918; sent to Camp Dodge, IA; served in Company M, 350th Infantry, to May 21, 1918; Company F, 5th Depot Battalion, Signal Corps, to Aug. 21, 1918; Company E, 407th Telegraph Battalion, Signal Corps, to discharge. Grade: Private 1st Class, Nov. 1, 1918; overseas from July 15, 1918, to April 28, 1919. Discharged at Camp Dodge, IA, on May 8, 1919, as a Private 1st Class.
