!CONFLICT: Henry Burdette Whipple and Blaine Whipple's 2004 book (above) both give Mary's birth in 9 Oct 1724. That date was after Mary's mother had married her second husband (not Mary's father), in 1709. Further complicating the issue is the 24 Apr 1719 birth of Mary's younger half brother, John Edwards. Either Mary's mother (Sarah Perkins) didn't marry John Edwards, or Mary was born before 1724. (Thanks to Beverly Huckins for pointing out this problem.)
