Combs to Weldon Whipple, 30 Jan 2020: "One interesting person ... is Anne Whipple Hill aka Annie Laurie Whipple who is a previously unidentified fourth daughter of David Spencer Whipple {7692} and his first wife Matilda Spencer {7750}. Anne was b. 26 Feb. 1875 and Matilda died two weeks later on 10 March 1875. My speculation is that the baby Anne was thereafter cared for by Martha's sister Eliza Ann (Spencer) Hill (until her death in 1878) and her husband John Hill, parents of Malvern Hill (see report) who leaves his estate to his "sister" Annie Whipple Hill. Notes in the WGW state that Matilda Spencer {7750} was the mother of three children (see report). As Anne Whipple Hill probably never lived with her parents, the source of this information did not include her in his narrative."
