I have to advise you from the papers in the Revolutionary pension claim, W. 18391, it appears that Nathan Whipple enlisted in January 1780 and was a private in Captain Samuel Pell's Company, Colonel Philip Van Cortlandt's Second New York Regiment, he was wounded by a bayonet in the left arm at the battle of Yorktown and was discharged in June 1783.
He was allowed pension on his application executed April 4, 1818, while a resident of Pownal, Bennington County, Vermont, aged about fifty-eight years.
He died January 7, 1832, at Bennington, Vermont.
Soldier married in September 1787 at Petersburg, New York (they were both then of said Petersburg). She was born in March 1765 and was allowed pension on her application executed September 5, 1838, while living in Bennington County, Vermont.
In 1843, she was living in Charlton, Saratoga County, New York.
Their eldest child, Nathan was born January 11, 1789. In 1830, son Daniel was eight years old and in 1838, son John G. was thirty-eight years old and a resident of New York City. Other children are referred to, but no names are stated.
