He was living in Jefferson County, New York at the time of his father's will. He served in the War of 1812 and later received $64.00 for his service. Census records show him in 1820 in Geneseo, Ontario, NY; 1830 in Lyme, Jefferson, NY; 1840 in Ellisburg, Jefferson, NY; 1850 in Western, Oneida, New York; 1860 in Lee, Oneida (as Stephen Kelsey said Otis was indexed on Ancestry as Oice), 1870 in Ada, Oneida, living with a William Dickerson and wife, Lydia (who may have been a daughter). Otis had a wife named Betsy from the 1850 and 1860 census years, and a son named Charles who was 17 in 1850. Otis appears to have had at least two sons and four daughters. ... Some places show that Otis died in the 1850's, but it appears to be a typo error on the year.
