• "In 1950, Mrs. Hansel sang Aaron Copland's song cycle on Emily Dickinson poems for Copland's 50th-birthday celebration. The reaction was so positive that Mrs. Hansel and the composer spent the next decade on an intermittent lecture and recital tour."
• "She also performed over the years at the White House and the Phillips Collection."
• "Early in her career, she performed with baritones John Yard and Joseph Collins in a group called the Mozart Trio. They appeared at Carnegie Hall in 1950."
