Rites Held for Elmer J. WhippleFinal rites were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sorenson Funeral Home for Elmer J. Whipple, 69, of 503 Intham Street who passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday at Mercy Hospital. He had been ill for about five months and the cause of death was leuiemia.
Rev. John Enselman officiated at the services and special music was given by Mrs. Floyd Taylor. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Whipple was born to Albert and Ruth Whipple in Winimac, Ind. on July 4, 1883. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Whipple was united in marriage to Leota B. Smith in Flint on July 11, 1943. She survives him as does one brother, Glenn of Toledo, Ohio.
