Nova Scotia Immigrants to 1867 lists William and Margaret Whipple as Sto Digby prob. soon after marriageT. This statement conflicts with the early Nova Scotia poll tax records which show a William Whipple, block maker, residing in Shelburne, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia in 1791, 1792 and 1794.
They evidently moved from Shelburne to Yarmouth by 1794 as their eldest children were christened at Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, Digby Co. beginning 13 Sep 1795.
The 1838 census of Digby Township, Digby County, Nova Scotia lists William Whipple, blockmaker, with a family of 3 females above 14 [Margaret, his wife, Margaret Ann, Frances A.], total 4 in family.
