"The error is probably from the 1850 Census of Berlin, Wayne, PA in that her name is correct, but she is somehow listed as a son instead of a daughter. Brother George T. Whipple is my 3 G grandfather and his daughter (my 2 G grandmother) is Harriet 'Hattie' Jane Whipple, likely named after her aunt."
