Also cites American Civil War Soldiers (at Ancestry.com), which shows Ezra Whipple of Wayne County, Michigan, who enlisted 24 Aug 1861 at Belleville, Michigan at the age of 33. He transferred into Regiment U.S. Veteran Reserve Corps on 15 Jan 1864.
