Albert was a young boy when his father died and he went to llive with relatives in Elyria, Ohio (see Twiss family) where he lived for five years. He then came east and worked in Manchester, NH but returned to Elyria. In 1872 he returned east again to Whitinsville, MA where he resided for many years. He served appprenticeship at the Whitin Machine Works and later became Superintendent there.
