!SOURCE: Richfield Springs NY Mercury Thursday March 10, 1927, cited by Jean Walker (email hidden) in email to Weldon Whipple, 17 Dec 2007: "Lydia Ann Whipple, born 6 January 1826, at Cazenovia NY, died at Norwich, Chenango County NY age 101. (Died in 1927, date of death not stated.) Her father William Whipple died when she was 6. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. William Throop of Hamilton NY. (Known after adoption as Lydia Ann Throop.) She lived in Chenango County almost 80 years."
