!BIOGRAPHY: Initially a cooper in Providence (vicinity), R.I., until he moved to Morristown, St. Lawrence County, N.Y. in 1808. (He "kept the first public house" there.) Her later moved to nearby Hammond, N.Y., where he held land from about 1812. In 1824 he was the "second postmaster of Hammond," and he served as town clerk in 1833 and 1834. --C.W. Farnham, 2:68.
