"The Platt family lived next door to the Whipple family in Ashland prior to the marriage of Ashley Whipple and Charles G. Platt and afterward lived with Ashley's mother in the Whipple home and later on Pleasant Street in Ashland. The three Platt sisters inherited the 'Dr. George H. Whipple' house in Ashland from their grandmother which was given to the town of Ashland and is now the Whipple Museum."
