!NAME: "Frederick Russell Leigh's last name changed from Currin to Leigh, because his mother, Maude Johnson Currin, died from Toxemia the day he was born. Her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice Johnson Leigh and William Ashworth Leigh, took him in. When it became obvious to them that Frederick Russell's birth father, John Hendrick Currin, was not going to be able to take care of him (and the other five children), they adopted him. He was finally told as an adult that he had been adopted. Suddenly a number of oddities made sense, such as why he resembled his "cousin," who were close to his age and looked nothing like his "sisters' who were 16 and 20 years older than him." --From William R.
