What is a RIN?

A Record Index Number (RIN) is a unique number associated with an individual in many genealogical programs. Each individual in the Whipple Genweb has a RIN.

Example 1: The address (URL) of Captain John Whipple's page in the Whipple Genweb ends with "/I366.html". His RIN is 366.

Example 2: Matthew Whipple of Bocking England is the earliest Whipple in the Whipple Genweb. His page in the Whipple Genweb ends with "/I5929.html". His RIN is 5929.
