• "I believe Joseph C. [who] married Chloe White August 17, 1820 in Douglas, Mass (town records, he of Uxbridge at the time) ... is the same Joseph who is the father of Albert who married Emeline Wheelock (town records of Douglas)."
• "Joseph may be the son of John Whipple and Martha Sibley of Sutton MA b about 1824. Some of his children were born in Douglas and according to the History of the town of Douglas, William A. Emerson, 1878, John and Patty lived in Sutton and had Amanda, Rachel, Dexter, McDonnough, and possibly a male born about 1820 and a male born about 1824, and Martin, listed as 5th son of John. Here are a couple more date, Amanda was married to Orren Packard 10.2.1828. The date of death for John was Sept 9, 1840."
• "The other family who were in Douglas MA was Jonathan b 1752 and Mary (Jennison); Joseph could be an unlisted child. Their son Independence lived in Uxbridge and Joseph was living in Uxbridge when his marriage intentions were recorded."
• "Circumstantial at best but I have been unable to find any other record of this Joseph. Hope this helps someone."

Joseph C. Whipple who married Chloe White cannot be the son of John and Patty (Sibley) Whipple for the following reasons:

1. Joseph C. Whipple m. Chloe White 17 Aug 1820 in Douglas, MA (VR Douglas, MA Pg 158)
2. Joseph C. was b. c1786 in Providence, RI (1850 Douglas, MA census)
3. Joseph and Chloe had three (3) known children, the first being Albert b. 31 Dec 1821 in Douglas, MA (Uxbridge, MA deaths V494 P463).
4. Joseph appears on the 1850 Douglas, MA census w/wife Chloe and their two (2) youngest children, Willard and Charles, at age 64, which puts Joseph's birth c1786.
5. John and Patty Sibley were not married until 1805, almost 20 years after Joseph's birth.

While I believe there is a close connection between Joseph C and John, I don't believe John is his father.

Whipple 77579; DOB corresponds and wife Chloe is a widow at her death in 1875.}" Note: Joseph's birth was previously entered as abt 1786 in Providence, Providence, Rhode Island. His death was previously entered as aft 17 Aug 1850, of Douglas, Worcester, Massachusetts.
